Job Summary
Oversee the overall development, renovations,
operations and maintenance at AUBMC to help achieve the organization goals and objectives. Oversee the AUBMC Plant Engineering
(PEMC). Medical Engineering (ME) and Project Construction
Unit (PCU) Departments. Chair the space allocation Committee in liaison with the
Medical Center Director to achieve the administration's
strategic plans for the facilities function. Act as an integral member of the
Medical Center Executive Team and participate in the
organization's decision making structures and processes. Support the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut
Medical Center (AUBMC) and that of the department.
Essential Functions / Task Groups
A - Conceptualize, design, plan & implement
projects (75%)
Conduct in-depth studies to identify loopholes in the
strategies and systems and also discover new opportunities or areas to focus
on.
Perform complex process analysis functions,
documenting existing processes and making recommendations based on best
practices for changes to improve operational
effectiveness.
Evaluate performance records of technical processes
and operations and submits report of findings to management.
Regularly reports status of projects to Medical
Center Director and make recommendations for improvements
Plan operations and maintenance of existing buildings
and ground to meet life safety codes and accreditation requirements.
Collaborate with other functions by bringing in
projects within projected scope, quality, budget, and schedule.
Perform productivity analyses and maintain metrics to
illustrate the performance of the department.
Develop and manage the departmental staff and
functions included in this area: Projects, in-house design, Medical and Clinical
equipment management, and operation and
maintenance.
Develop methods for interaction and cross-functioning
between Project and Operation and Maintenance units concerning job
responsibilities, job-related problems and organizational
effectiveness; assist in creating a cooperative and result-oriented work
environment.
Oversee, monitor, and verify adherence to Regulatory Agencies:
MOPH, JCI & CAP.
B - Leadership Duties (25%)
Lead, prepare and implement short and long term
strategies in line with the strategic direction to implement and facilitate
achievement of the department(s) objectives.
Oversee the development of operating and capital
budgets for respective department(s) and create accountability for compliance of
approved budget.
Lead respective teams through coaching, appraising,
developing, motivating and applying respective HR Management
functions.

Education:
Minimum Education: Master's Degree in Engineering
Discipline.
Experience:
Minimum Experience: 12-15 years of engineering
experience in planning, design, execution and management of physical facilities
out of which
5 years are in a managerial role.
Languages:
Minimum Languages: Arabic and English (EEE >/=
500)
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other
needed software and databases
