The 10 North has an opening for the position of Floor Clerk in grade 6 starting at a salary of LBP 904,677.- per month. Basic Functions
Provide clerical support to clinical staff and reception of patients to ensure efficiency of the unit.  Maintain the store by performing timely and accurate replenishment and charging of supplies.
Support the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and that of the Nursing Services Department.
Minimum Requirements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • BACC II with preferably 1 year of experience in a hospital environment or 10 years of experience within the same role at AUBMC.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records
  • Strong command of Arabic and English (IET score >/= 450). French is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheet and database software)
  • Work Schedule: Shift Rotation Basis and/or On-Call

Job Summary

Essential Functions / Task Groups

Administrative Duties-100%:

  • Receive and greet unit visitors with courtesy, providing them with relevant information and directing them appropriately.
  • Enter patient's charges on the system accurately and securely and follow up with nurses on patient charges to maintain availability of chargeable items and avoid losses.
  • Assist clinicians in placing charges on patient records prior to discharge and in securing financial clearance of patients for procedures as well as ensuring proper and timely charging of supplies, procedures and any chargeable item used on the patient and report to the Nurse Manager any discrepancies identified in charge capturing.
  • Maintain the store by performing daily count on expensive chargeable supplies, weekly count on all chargeable supplies, monthly count on expiry dates and monthly store inventory.
  • Request non-chargeable supplies on weekdays based on the unit standardized quantity as well as unit census and store for holidays and weekends a day before.
  • Communicate with the Admitting Office and Bed Management regularly during admissions, transfers, discharges, out-on-pass, extension of stay, bed changes, provider changes or any other changes.
  • Follow up and assist with patient procedure scheduling on the unit and coordinate appointment scheduling between departments including but not limited to the Specialty Clinics and Radiology.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.
