Job Summary
Provide technical assistance and recommend new techniques, equipment, and
procedures. Responsible for assessing the performance of the Diagnostic
Radiology Department for the purposes of awarding accreditation. Conduct on-site
assessments and review evidence submissions of the Diagnostic Radiology
Department, write assessment reports and follow-up actions required to address
outstanding mandatory requirements. Manage Radiographer education, professional
development and performance.
Support the mission and vision of the American
University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and that of the Department
Essential Functions / Task Groups
Accreditation Duties:
- Assist in the continuous development and maintenance of accreditation
methodologies, standards, processes and tools.
- Assess the performance of the Diagnostic Radiology Department for the
purposes of awarding accreditation:
- Evaluate the Diagnostic Radiology Department's level of actual performance
to achieving the ACR accreditation standards.
- Review and evaluate desk top audit submissions.
- Conduct initial assessments of new diagnostic services; prepare initial
assessment reports; and award provisional accreditation in accordance with ACR
Committee policy.
- Conduct focused visits as required and develops focused visit reports
documenting findings from the focused visit and any recommended courses of
action.
- Review submissions from Diagnostic Radiology Department in response to
outstanding mandatory requirements and determines whether the Department has
fulfilled the outstanding mandatory requirement.
- Follow-up directly with the facility as required to clarify information or
ask for additional information.
- Document their assessment of fulfilling the outstanding mandatory
requirement, or a recommended course of action to be taken by the diagnostic
imaging facility/service.
- Provide reports and documentation in a timely and prescribed manner to the
Chairperson.
- Perform Pre-Assessment activities:
- Answer queries from Diagnostic
Radiology Department related to the interpretation and the application of ACR
accreditation standards.
- Assist in the development of an accreditation
strategy and schedule for each Diagnostic Radiology Unit including reference
to any regional/corporate structure models.
- Perform On-site Assessments:
- Review and evaluate desk top audit
submissions from Diagnostic Radiology Department in accordance with ACR
assessment policies and procedures.
- Conduct on-site assessments in
accordance with ACR assessment policies and procedures.
- Follow up with
Diagnostic Radiology Department, as required, for further information or
clarification of submitted information.
- Perform Post Assessment activities:
- Prepare reports resulting from
the evaluation of desk top audit submissions and on-site assessments.

Identify outstanding mandatory requirements to be addressed by the Diagnostic
Radiology Department with associated timeframes for completion.
- Perform
the technical quality review of the report for the Diagnostic Radiology
Department
- Submit reports to the Chairperson within the timeframe defined
in the ACR service standards.
- Make recommendation to the ACR Committee on
the appropriate level of accreditation award for the Diagnostic Radiology
Department assessed.
Technical Duties:
- Oversee radiology services by directing and coordinating the services of
radiology and diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Oversee staff in operation of imaging equipment, such, as x-ray machines,
fluoroscopes, computerized tomography (CT) scanners, or magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI) equipment.
- Meet radiology operational standards by contributing information to
strategic plans and reviews.
- Implement production, productivity, quality, and patient-service
standards.
- Assist with the maintenance of facility profiles, key contact lists, etc.
- Participate in the summation of significant findings and recommendations
by size and type of organization; and by accreditation program.
- Manage, encourage, and follow-up on all medical research projects at the
Diagnostic Radiology Department sections.
- Facilitate meetings, forums, focus groups and workshops.
- Review the Radiographers quality patient care.

up to date Diagnostic Imaging operations and processes/workflow and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of JCIA and ACR standards.

Education:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Radiological Sciences and Master's Degree in Health
Sciences.
Experience:
Minimum Experience: 5 years
experience in a related position.
Languages:
Minimum
Languages: Arabic and English (EEE >/= 500)
Computer
Skills:
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Applications as well as
other software needed by the job.
Impact of Actions / Decisions
Failure to carryout the work effectively may affect negatively the work of
AUBMC in terms of the accreditation process.
