The Materials Management Department (AUBMC) and Operating Rooms have openings for the position of Inventory Clerk in grade 7.

Basic Functions

Responsible for timely and accurate stock issuance, picking, labeling and delivering of needed supplies. Work with storekeepers to maintain accurate inventory levels, track stock movements, and assist with various inventory control activities.
Support the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and that of the department.

Minimum Requirements
  • Knowledge of storage methods, procedures, and terminology.
  • Education & Experience: Secondary Education (BACII) with preferable 1 year of relevant work experience in a similar setting or 10 years of experience within a similar role at AUBMC
  • Minimum Languages: Arabic and English (IET>= 450)
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic Knowledge in Microsoft Office Operations
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of Inventory Management System tools.

Job Summary

Essential Functions / Task Groups

     Tasks:

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of supplies and instrument sets in designated areas by performing daily cycle counts and submitting replenishment orders as needed.
  • Inspect and count incoming supplies, resolve discrepancies and document serial numbers. expiration dates, and lot numbers prior to stocking.
  • Process and prepare supplies/sets for allocation, picking and packing,  ensuring accuracy and adherence to expiration date prioritization.
  • Monitor stock levels, notify management of shortages or out-of-stock items, and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Maintain organized, safe and clean supply and storage rooms.
  • Assist with annual physical inventory conducted by the department and audit office.
  • Report stock discrepancies or issues promptly to management.
  • Perform other duties as requested by direct supervisor.

Impact of Actions / Decisions

Inaccuracy in inspection of delivered supplies as per replenishment orders may result in significant discrepancy in the store.
Improper inspection of stock levels may result in under or overstock at the clinical area and may jeopardize patient care.
