Job Summary
Participate
in developing, monitoring, reporting, and improving activities related to
laboratory clinical operations in the collaboration with the department
Chairperson, Executive Director and Laboratory Executive Officer / technical
directors in line with accreditation requirements.
Essential Functions / Task Groups
Technical
and Administrative Responsibilities
-
Participate in
collaboration with the Chairperson, Quality Director, and Executive Officer in
developing, implementing and maintaining documented laboratory guidelines and
manuals for general laboratory standards compatible with JCI, JACIE, ISO, MOPH
and CAP requirements.

Ensure
that all Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (PLM) employees are compliant with
the department quality and safety policies and procedures as well as the
accreditation requirements, and report all violations.

Provide
leadership, and administrative oversight for managing laboratory safety
program, operations and services.

Act as
point person in all Laboratory units for Quality and Safety inspections, and
issue comprehensive audit reports to evaluate the performance of every
section. Serve as the department’s liaison for accreditation requirements and
safety issues with the Environmental Health, Safety, and Risk Management
department (EHSRM) and Quality, Accreditation, and Risk Management department
(QARM)

Maintain
systems for statistical analysis of required laboratory quality indicators,
propose corrective action/improvement based on findings, and follow up on the
implementation.

Maintain
quality documents/records in accordance with the PLM department record
retention policy.

Monitor
and follow up on customers’ complaints and inquiries.

Review
monthly section specific quality management reports, and prepare the
department yearly Quality Management (QM) report.

Assist the
Chairperson and Executive Director in developing a strategy to ensure that
effective communication mechanisms are in place for dissemination of
information within the laboratory and service users (external and internal
clients), and ensure that the needs and requirements of laboratory users are
met.

Facilitate/ conduct
on staff quality and safety training needs, and ensure
compliance.

Oversee
monthly QM, quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) and safety meetings
for all laboratory sections, and keep minutes of same.

other related duties as assigned.

Education:
Minimum
Education: Bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Technology
Preferred
Education: Master's in Public Health or other related
discipline.
Experience:
Minimum
Experience: 7-9 years of experience
in Medical Laboratory Technology with preferably emphasis on Quality
Management.
Languages:
Minimum
Languages: Arabic and English (EEE >/= 500)
Computer
Skills:
Proficiency
in using Microsoft office as well as other software as required by the
job.
