Job Summary
Perform a variety of janitorial and/or
housekeeping duties in and around Medical Center and affiliated buildings
departments and floors to maintain areas in tidy and sanitary
conditions.
Support the mission and vision of the American University of
Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and that of the Housekeeping Department.
Essential Functions / Task Groups
Functional/Technical:
- Clean patients' rooms both occupied and upon discharge. Includes cleaning
furniture, mopping and/or vacuuming floors, cleaning windows, spot cleaning or
full cleaning of walls, cleaning of venetian blinds, replacing cubicle
curtains as necessary, cleaning of patient bathrooms, etc.
- Dust ledges, picture frames, curtain tracks, etc.
- Clean patients' areas, nurses' stations, nurses' lounge, isolation rooms,
medication rooms, storage rooms, offices, etc. Includes cleaning floors,
dusting furniture, etc.
- Clean administrative offices and medical offices.
- Abide by the proper usage of all cleaning materials supplied as directed
by superior.
- Replenish soap, paper goods such as toilet paper, tissue paper, napkins,
etc.
- Segregate and transport waste according to medical center rules and
regulations.
- Check up on performed cleaning jobs.
- Attend training sessions as scheduled and designated by Housekeeping
Department.
- Report to superior all spotted maintenance needs.
- Maintain equipments and tools in a clean and functional status.
- Treat patients, staff and visitors with politeness and respect. Maintain
patient confidentiality.
- Abide by Medical Center safety rules & regulations.
- Assist in any other requested tasks.
