The Hospital Information System has an opening for the position of HIS Application Specialist in grade 11 starting at a salary of LBP 1,476,433.- per month. Basic Functions
Serve as the primary technology resource for Medical Center systems and is responsible for daily support of software, documentation, report writing, system monitoring and problem resolution for all applications in designated areas. Assist in training programs and work closely with end users to optimize their use of the Clinical /Business / Imaging systems.
Support the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC).
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields.
  • 1 year of experience in supporting IT applications is preferred.
  • Strong command of Arabic and English (IET >/= 500).
  • Work Schedule: Regular weekdays
  • Proficiency in t-SQL language. Proficiency in client side scripting (JavaScript etc..). Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Applications and other software as needed by the job. Knowledge of AS400 is a plus.

Essential Functions / Task Groups

Funtional/Technical Duties:

  • Provide instruction and advice to system users; analyze problems and issues related to Medical Center systems and related software; coordinate usage among all system users.
  • Develop and prepare user materials as reference to assist departmental users in their daily operations.
  • Provide production support and on-site support as necessary to keep systems operational and resolve complex problems.
  • Prepare a variety of reports for documenting activities and responding to requests, or complying with mandated requirements.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of existing systems and applications and communicate any suggested change or enhancement to the senior application specialists or application analysts.
  • Participates in meetings and workshops for communicating system capabilities.
  • Cover weekend operations and on-call support based on schedule.
  • Act as a liaison between the administrative/clinical areas and the IT department.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Education:
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields.
