The Hospital Information System has an opening for the position of Data Intelligence Analyst above grade 12. Basic Functions
Perform analysis and document requirements as well as builds reports/dashboards for decision makers in collaboration with HIS Application Analysts. Prepare reports/dashboards and modify HIS-released reports to meet stakeholders’ needs which includes working on a number of reporting tools.
Support the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and that of the Department.
Minimum Requirements
  • Work Schedule: Regular weekdays including Saturdays &/or On-Call
  • Bachelor's Degree of Sciences in Computer Science, Math, Information Systems, Statistics and/or Physics. Master's Degree in data analytics or equivalent is preferred
  • 3-5 years in implementing, developing, supporting Business Intelligence applications and dashboards preferably in a Healthcare environment
  • Accepting to travel outside Lebanon (including US) for training for a period ranging between 2 weeks to 4 weeks depending on the role
  • Passing the required HIS application’s certification at the completion of training
  • Strong command of Arabic and English (EEE >/= 500)
  • Expert in SQL development and experience with Business Intelligence Tools (such as Crystal Reports, SSRS & Business Objects, Power BI etc.) Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts

Essential Functions / Task Groups

Functional/Technical Duties:

  • Review HIS foundation system reports and identify analytics needs with report consumers and decision makers. Modify existing reports, as necessary and document changes.
  • Create design specifications for new reports/dashboards such as RADAR, Reporting Workbench, etc...
  • Share and collaborate with the Data warehouse and ETL Administrators to facilitate the creation of needed data cubes or data marts.
  • Identify and review the appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needs.
  • Test report build in a specified testing environment and validate data, and volume test in live environments, if needed. Including following structured testing and documentation as well as performing peer reviews for final reports validity.
  • Distribute reports/dashboards to report consumers using available tools and train them on their appropriate use.
  • Review upgrade documentation related to HIS reporting applications features and released reporting content, and determine how to implement the changes. Including documenting all aspects of reports/dashboards and change requests.
  • Meet with end users and requestors to understand their data needs. Including investigating end users' preferences while making build decisions and analyze business operations as they relate to build decisions.
  • Collaborate internally to understand the organization's reporting future needs by analyzing the data generated from the business workflows.
  • Follow established guidelines for system change control. Track, update and resolve issues.
  • Participate in training of end-users on proper use of applications.
  • Maintain system documentation to enable ongoing support of the system.
  • Perform or oversee other tasks as needed.

Administrative Duties:

  • Collaborate with Principal Trainers in the design and development of role-based training programs to support workflows to be implemented.
  • Communicate project status with department representatives, and with higher levels and provide formal status reporting on a periodic basis to supervisory staff as requested.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings as assigned and record meeting minutes.
  • Identify revisions needed to existing Policies & Procedures, and initiates revision process with appropriate organizational departments.
  • Serve as a liaison between end users, third parties, and HIS support team.

Knowledge:
Familiar with HIS applications and database structure
Ability to gain an in-depth understanding of the data model through data model classes geared toward specific HIS applications

Education:
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree of Sciences in Computer Science, Math, Information Systems, Statistics and/or Physics.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in data analytics or equivalent.

Experience:
Minimum Experience: 3-5 years in implementing, developing, supporting Business Intelligence applications and dashboards preferably in a Healthcare environment

Training and Certification:
Attending trainings in order to complete and pass the HIS application's certifications.

Travel:
Position may require travel in order to be trained for a period ranging between 2-4 weeks depending on the role.

Languages:
Minimum Languages: Arabic and English (EEE >/= 500)

Computer Skills:
Expert in SQL development and experience with Business Intelligence Tools (such as Crystal Reports, SSRS & Business Objects, Power BI etc.)
